November 17 Weekly Updates and Information
Published on Nov 18, 2018 09:10

Thank you to our students and families who were able to participate in Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences.  It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the growth and learning that has already taken place this year and plan next steps for growth for the months to come.  Thank you for your support of our book fair and Gr. 8 fundraising initiatives!

Dressing for the Weather and Inclement Weather Days

Winter has arrived! Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather conditions throughout the day. Hat, mitts or gloves, snow pants and boots are necessary. Please label all clothing items. Students will be outside for two 20-minutes recess during the winter months as weather permits - please always send your child  to school dressed for outdoor recess.

Bus cancellation announcements can be heard on our local radio station or viewed on our board website at www.smcdsb.on.ca or www.simcoecountyschoolbus.ca. We are in the South Weather Zone.  The school will also send out a Remind notice when it becomes aware that buses have been cancelled.

In the event that the buses are cancelled, the school is open for drop off at 8:30 am in the main foyer and students must be picked up at dismissal no later than 3:05 pm.  Please note that your child will require a lunch on inclement weather days as food orders are cancelled and rescheduled for the following school day.

Wendy’s Night

Tired of cooking?  Join us for dinner on Tuesday November 20 between 4:30 and 7:30pm at Wendy’s on Bridge Street.  10% of all sales (both dine in and drive through) will be donated back to St. Charles! Hope to see you there!

Christmas Cheer

With the Christmas season fast approaching, we would like to spread our generosity and support to families who are in need. We will be collecting gently used coats, snow pants, hats, mittens and scarves for both children and adults through a Coat Drive. We will also be collecting new and unwrapped toys, books and/or games through a Toy Drive. Please send any of these items to school with your child to support our Coat Drive and Toy Drive this Christmas season. Our final day of collecting items will be Friday, December 14th, 2018.

Thank you so much for your generosity. As a school community,  together we can help families in need this Christmas.
