November 10 Weekly Updates and Information
Published on Nov 10, 2018 09:33

This week we had assemblies focusing on behaviour.  At St. Charles we expect that students to treat each other and all adults within the school with dignity and respect.  This means students are kind in both actions and words and they follow instructions the first time they are given. Staff will be practicing expectations with students regarding walking in the hall, appropriate recess behaviour, etc.  Thank you for your support in reviewing these expectations with your child.

School Driveway

When picking up students please park in the parking lot as opposed to the driveway in front of the school.  This is the lane for emergency and/or school vehicles and it is important that it remains clear.

Remembrance Day

This Monday November 12th, we will be holding our school Remembrance Day assembly at 9:30 am in the school gym.  Parents are welcomed to attend.

Students will be given poppies to wear on Monday to show their remembrance and respect for our Canadian military.  We are asking that students bring in donations for the poppy fund. This is a fund that supports our Veterans. Through your donations to the Legion Poppy Fund, the Legion provides financial assistance and support to our Veterans, including Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, and their families who are in need.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences

If you have not already done so, please sign up for a conference time(s) to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s).  Sign-up on School-Day closes at noon on Tuesday, November 13.

Fundraising During Conferences

Our Gr. 8 class will be hosting a bake sale on Thursday, November 15, 2018 to raise funds for graduation and their year-end trip. Students will be selling homemade baked goods the entire evening of Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences.  Please bring your cash and sweet tooth to the bake sale located outside the library!

Our Gr. 8 class will also be selling phone accessories to help fundraise for the Gr. 8 graduation and year-end trip during Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences. All forms of payment will be accept (debit, credit, e-transfers, cheques and cash). Please come see us by the library. Attached is a flyer of what will be available.
