Vaping Information Session
On May 29, South Simcoe Police and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will be putting on a free information session on E-cigarettes (vaping) This is open to parents of all Grade 7/8 students. This is a growing concern and it is estimated that approximately 75% of high school students are now vaping.

EQAO
Students in grades 3 & 6 will participate in the provincial assessment of reading, writing and mathematics. If your child is in grade 3 or 6 please do not plan any appointments or absences from May 21 – June 3, as this is the assessment writing window.
Climate Survey
You are invited to complete our Parent Climate Survey. At the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, we are committed to working together to create learning environments where everyone feels safe, included and valued as members of our education community. The climate survey is focused on factors such as engagement, relationships, spirituality, health, safety, inclusion, etc., that impact a positive climate where all members of the community can thrive.
Please take approximately 10 minutes of your time to help us find out what strengths we have as an education community and what opportunities we can work on together to improve. This survey is voluntary, however your thoughts, feelings and opinions are important to us. This survey is anonymous and all responses will be combined for reporting.
This survey will be available until Friday, May 31, 2019.

Dress Code Reminders
The warmer weather will soon be upon us. Please remember to ensure that your child comes to school dressed for the weather and dressed appropriately, following our school dress code as outlined in the student agendas. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen before school and encourage your child to drink plenty of water throughout the day! If you are in doubt about an article of clothing, then your child should not wear it to school. Please ensure that children are dressed for success! Thank you for supporting our efforts to promote a safe, positive and respectful environment.
